1995

Planted Roots

The bank planted roots in Madison in 1995 and ever since our story has been closely entwined with that of the local community and people we serve. When established, the vision was for a bank that focused on local decision-making, above-and-beyond personal service, and deep roots in the community. This vision created the platform for the kind of bank it would become and the qualities which customers would come to depend on.

When we first opened our doors, we had $5 million in capital representing the Bank’s total asset base. After the first full year in business, we reported assets of $35.6 million.

Private Banking Division Opens

The Private Banking team was formed as a service tailored for professionals in the medical, legal, dental, and accounting fields but with the expertise to serve any accredited entities. As an unabashed small team, Capitol Bank clients work with these same individuals from day one. They craft recommendations and approve terms in-house, quickly and flexibly.
