Incumbent is responsible for opening all types of deposit accounts (and certain consumer loans if applicable) for new and existing customers. The activity involves identifying the customer's needs, recommending the appropriate bank product and gathering the necessary information and documentation to activate the account/products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Welcome new customers to the bank
  • Recommend products and services to meet customer needs
  • Open, update and maintain accounts/consumer loans (if applicable) /Internet Banking/sweep products and all other electronic and cash management products
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on accounts/consumer loans
  • Handle customer account inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of products and services
  • Comply with state and federal regulations
  • Cross-sell existing customers into additional services when appropriate
  • Survey the marketplace to insure bank remains competitive in products and pricing
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and proposals for prospective business customers
  • Participate in outbound business development calls

  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy by balancing cash drawer daily
  • Keeps cash overages/shortages within established limits by selling and buying cash as needed

Job Description Summary
This position processes and documents commercial loan transactions along with consumer and residential real estate transactions as needed. This position will assist in all areas of loan support including loan operations, credit cards, exception tracking, document scanning, file review, customer service and other loan related tasks as assigned. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Efficiently and accurately prepare loan documentation for commercial loans as requested by lenders/credit analysts including new and renewed credits and adverse action files.
  • Ensure loans are documented properly to limit bank risk. Ensure that closing documents reflect the terms and conditions of loan approval.
  • Assist in monitoring the lending authority of lending personnel and lending limit of the bank.
  • When applicable, work with attorneys to close loans with appropriate legal and credit/collateral documentation.
  • Order and analyze title insurance commitment reports including title exceptions and endorsements.
  • Order and analyze UCC searches to ensure the bank’s lien position for UCC collateral type, prepare termination, assignment or subordination filings to assist in clearing existing liens.
  • Order appraisals, flood determinations, and credit reports when requested.
  • Disburse loan proceeds, pay third party fees, and perfect collateral by filing UCC’s, sending recordable documents to the Register of Deeds, electronically filing vehicle liens, etc.
  • Assist in loan closings as needed.
  • Assemble and maintain customer loan files.
  • Scan and index loan file documents.
  • Ensure exception items are completed in a timely fashion to complete files.
  • Assist with paid loan file maintenance and document lien releases in a timely manner.
  • Understand and comply with Loan Policy and Loan Procedures.
  • Have thorough knowledge of loan regulatory compliance to ensure that all loans meet regulatory compliance.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the loan documentation system (Compliance One) including product set up, bank information set up and other parameters.
  • Work with VP, Loan Administration to comply with HMDA collection, submission, review, retention requirements.
  • Provide customer support in all areas of loan documentation and loan servicing.
  • Assist with various audits related to lending function to limit bank risk. Work with VP, Loan Administration and Compliance Officer to provide resolution on identified items. Coordinate required information needed for outside audits and regulatory examinations to ensure records are readily available and assistance is provided.

Qualifications (Work experience, Skills, Education):

  • Bachelors or Associate Degree preferred; equivalent years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum two years banking experience in loan documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, problem solve and exercise exceptional use of good judgment with respect to issues/circumstances as they arise.
  • Positively demonstrate leadership and teamwork by proactively assisting other team members when needed as well as actively participating and contributing during team meetings.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with loan documentation associated with Residential loans, Commercial loans including SBA, and participation loans.
  • Extensive knowledge of required entity documentation for various business entities (Corporations, LLC’s, Partnerships, etc.).
  • High level of computer aptitude with a background in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Job Description Summary

Assist in the underwriting process for business loans by identifying and defining key credit risks. Analyze financial statements and prepare credit presentations to ensure transparency in the underwriting process. Work with lenders to provide Loan Operations with the necessary information to prepare loan documents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze complex business financial statements, personal financial statements, tax returns.
  • Spread financial statements and evaluate historical performance
  • Research and analyze industry trends and economic factors affecting the business
  • Perform cash flow, global cash flow, collateral, ratio, and trend analysis on borrower and/or guarantors
  • Analyze in detail the components of collateral appraisals and evaluations, and summarize valuation methodology for committee presentation
  • Prepare detailed narratives of company background, management expertise, and financial performance
  • Prepare detailed cash flow and collateral analyses
  • Provide input on the risk rating that should be assigned to credits
  • Review compliance with Loan Policy
  • Document loan policy exceptions
  • Compile the required information and documents
  • Participate in credit presentations at Officer Loan Committee
  • Serve in the capacity of secretary for Officer Loan Committee
  • Become familiar with Loan Policy and Lending Procedures
  • Assist with loan proposals, including commitment letters, etc
  • Identify and recommend additional business and personal services to new / existing clients
  • Monitor annual loan renewals and obtain required documents and information to maintain timely loan renewals
